Zambian copper.
Mines, metal and mandates.

Aurum Resources trades copper cathode and concentrate, takes mandates to sell and acquire mines, and runs procurement for outside investors who want Zambian copper without running the operation themselves.

What Aurum does

Three desks, one counterparty.

Most Zambian mining deals die between the seller, the buyer and the paperwork. Aurum sits in the middle and keeps the deal moving, from first call to signed terms.

Why Zambia

The Copperbelt is the opportunity.

Zambia has one of Africa’s deepest copper endowments, with established production on the Copperbelt and growing development in the North-Western Province. Power, logistics and licensing are the constraints that decide whether a project works, which is why Aurum is built by an operator of energy and infrastructure businesses in the country, not a remote intermediary.

Aurum Resources is a trading and advisory desk and does not provide investment, legal or tax advice. Every transaction is subject to due diligence, contract and applicable Zambian law.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What is copper cathode?

Copper cathode is refined copper produced by electrorefining or electrowinning. LME Grade A cathode is 99.99 percent copper and is the standard traded form for metal delivery.

What is copper concentrate?

Copper concentrate is the product of milling and flotation of sulphide ore. It typically carries a copper grade in the range of 20 to 30 percent and is sold to smelters under terms that set payable metal, treatment charges and refining charges.

Can Aurum help me sell a mine or mining licence in Zambia?

Yes. Aurum takes sale mandates for operating mines, development projects and licences. A mandate starts with a short data pack and a check of the licence position.

Can Aurum buy or source a mine for an overseas investor?

Yes. Aurum procures copper assets and offtake for outside investors, working to a written brief on size, grade, stage and budget.

Who regulates mining in Zambia?

The Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development administers mining rights and licences in Zambia, and exports of minerals involve the Zambia Revenue Authority. Every transaction should be checked against the current register and rules.
